ABOUT / WHAT THIS PROJECT IS
We do not run an open call.
On a small promise Chibi Art has kept for twenty-five years.
Put out a wide call, and there will always be works you cannot acknowledge.
We decided not to work in a way that leaves children un-chosen.
So we choose, and take a drawing into our own care.
We see one child’s drawing through to the end.
That is where we begin.
There is a moment when someone who sees it pauses,
and quietly says, “I like this.”
We want to carry that small remark, properly,
all the way back to the child who drew it.
That, in truth, is what we do.
Collect hundreds of thousands of children’s drawings,
use only the prize-winning few, and discard the rest.
There are many projects in the world that work that way.
Chibi Art stands apart.
We do not collect. We do not compare. We do not rank.
We take responsibility for one child’s work, all the way through.
A share of the revenue goes to children’s welfare and healthcare organisations.
This is not a flashy project.
It is enough to be noticed by those who look closely.
We have kept going at that quiet distance.
That is the Chibi Art way.
